남 : Do you have any pets?

너 반려동물 키워?

여 : No. I want to have a dog but my apartment is not big enough. 

아니. 개 키우고 싶은데 아파트가 너무 좁아. 

남 : Couldn't you keep a small dog like a Chihuahua?

치와와 같은 작은 개 못 키워?

여 : Not at the moment. And anyway - I work late and I'm away a lot on business.

지금 당장은 아냐. 그리고 어쨌거나 난 늦게까지 일하고 출장으로 집을 비울 때도 많거든.

남 : I guess even small dogs need a lot of attention.

소형견도 손이 많이 갈 것 같아. 

여 : Yes. My family had a poodle when I was a child.

맞아. 어렸을 때 우리 집에 푸들이 한 마리 있었거든. 

My dad took her out for a walk twice a day.

아버지가 하루에 두 번씩 개 산책시키러 나가셨어.

1) Keeping a dog requires a lot of responsibility and commitment.

강아지를 키우려면 많은 책임과 헌신을 요구한다. 

2) They decided to keep a dog as a family pet. 

그들은 가족의 반려동물로 개를 키우기로 했다.

be away on business : 출장으로 멀리 떠나 있다

1) James won't be able to attend the meeting because he will be away on business.

제임스는 멀리 출장을 떠나 회의에 참석할 수 없을 것이다. 

2) I'll be away on business for the next two weeks - so please contact me via email.

다음 2주 동안 출장으로 부재중일 것이니 이메일로 연락해 주세요.
