여 : I need this by the close of business. 이거 오늘 퇴근 전까지 필요합니다. 

남 : I haven't finished yet. It still needs some work. 아직 못 끝냈어요. 

여 : I need this by the end of the day. 저 이거 오늘 안으로 필요해요. 

남 : I need a little more time. Can we extend the deadline? Can I finish this next week? 시간이 좀 더 필요해요. 마감 시간을 연장할 수 있을까요? 다음 주에 끝내도 될까요?

여 : This is urgent This has to be done today. 급한 건입니다. 오늘 안에 끝내야 해요.

1) The submission deadline cannot be extended anymore. 제출 기한을 더 이상 연장할 수 없습니다.

close of business (=COB)

일종의 비즈니스 용어로 '업무 종료, 일과 종료'의 뜻입니다. end of business 표현도 가능합니다. by the close of business는 일과 종료 / 업무 종료 (전)까지로 '부사구' 표현입니다. 

* It needs ~ (그것은 ~가 필요하다) = It wants 

우리말의 '원하다'는 사물주어가 올 수 없는 것과 달리 영어의 want는 사물 주어가 흔히 옵니다. 그래서 '원하다', '필요하다'가 됩니다.
